Terms & Conditions
Adventurous Activities:
Client bookings are accepted with the understanding that clients acknowledge the potential risks involved in travel, particularly when engaging in adventurous activities such as trekking, climbing, and diving.
Underage Travelers:
Bookings for individuals under the age of eighteen will only be accepted when accompanied by an adult who assumes responsibility for them.
Accommodation Availability:
In the unlikely event that the accommodation described and/or confirmed is unavailable upon arrival at a hotel or campsite, Genes Adventures will provide alternative accommodation in a hotel or campsite of equal or higher standard, if available.
Compensation for Changes:
Compensation does not apply to changes resulting from events such as war, riots, civil strikes, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, fires, closures of airports, ports, or accommodations, adverse weather conditions, or similar situations beyond our control. In these cases, Genes Adventures' liability is limited to offering an alternative comparable holiday, if available, or refunding the money paid by the client, excluding the deposit.
Alterations While Abroad:
No credit or refund will be provided for unused services included in the holiday cost. Any changes to travel arrangements made while abroad are the client's responsibility, and Genes Adventures cannot be held liable for any additional costs or complications arising from such alterations.
Adventure Holidays:
For clients participating in trekking activities, Genes Adventures provides first-class guides, porters, and safety equipment. If a client is forced to abandon an activity due to physical limitations, no refund for park fees will be issued, and additional accommodation or transport costs are the client's responsibility. Clients may be asked to sign a Disclaimer Form prior to certain activities.
Flight Delays:
In the event of a delay, meals, overnight accommodations, etc., should be arranged by the airline. If delays require additional transfers for joining a group, these costs must be covered by the client and can be claimed through their insurance policy if applicable.
Exchange Rates:
Our quoted prices are based on current exchange rates and on-the-ground costs. The price of a tour may fluctuate before Genes Adventures accepts a booking or after the booking is confirmed. If the variation exceeds 10% of the holiday cost, the client is entitled to a full refund.
Payment:
Payments for your safari/climb can only be made in US Dollars into our Azania Bank Account against the currency conversion rate applicable at the time of booking.
Deposits:
A 30% deposit is required to confirm bookings, with the balance due no later than ten weeks before the start date of the tour. If the booking is made within ten weeks of the tour, the full amount is due at the time of booking. If the balance is not paid by the due date, the booking may be treated as cancelled, with applicable cancellation charges. Bank charges are the client’s responsibility.
Cancellations:
Cancellations must be made in writing (email is acceptable with confirmation from Genes Adventures). The 30% deposit is non-refundable, and the following charges will apply: More than 60 days before the start date: deposit only 29 to 60 days before the start date: 50% of the tour cost 15 to 28 days before the start date: 75% of the tour cost 14 days or less: total cost of the tour
Travel Insurance:
All clients are required to have adequate travel insurance, which should cover the nature of the holiday (including activities like trekking, climbing, diving, etc.). Proof of insurance must be provided to the tour guide upon meeting. The policy must include repatriation cover in case of a serious accident.
Travel Documents:
Clients are responsible for obtaining their own passports, visas, health certificates, international driving permits, and other necessary documents for their trip. Any costs incurred due to failure to meet these requirements are the client's responsibility.
Vehicle, safari and mountain climb operations:
Genes Adventures is committed to delivering the safari according to the agreed itinerary and price. Clients agree to abide by the terms. If a client becomes ill during the safari, no refund will be provided. In the event of a major vehicle breakdown, a rescue vehicle will be dispatched immediately. Minor issues that can be repaired will be addressed to continue the safari. Genes Adventures is not responsible for any loss or damage to baggage.
