21 days

This 21 day extensive itinerary is going to be wild and lazy. You will experience "the Wild" from the Northern to the Southern National Parks of Tanzania and end on a "Lazy" and relaxed beach holiday in Zanzibar.  

 

You will visit Tanzania’s most stunning highlights.  Lose yourself in the majesty of the Serengeti, marvel at the breathtaking views from the rim of the expansive Ngorongoro Crater, but also the more remote and unspoiled gems in the south including Ruaha National Park and Nyerere National Park.

 

This is a unique private safari and tropical beach adventure.

Day 1
Arrival in Tanzania

After a warm welcome by your private guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to  your hotel/lodge in Arusha for your first overnight.(bed only)

Day 2
Your First Game Drive

Today your adventure will start. After a fresh breakfast you will start drive leisurely towards Tarangire National Park for your very first game drive. Enjoy a nice picnic lunch in the park with splendid iews of the area. At the end of the day arrive at your tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3
Tarangire National Park

Set off in the early morning to venture into Tarangire for exploration. The park is renowned for its vast herds of elephants and varied scenery, featuring the Tarangire river, marshlands, and towering baobab trees.

Day 4
Meet The Colorful Maasai 

We leave Tarangire Natonal Park behind and drive slowly towards Lake Manyara National Park. En route you will have a stop at an authentic Maasai Boma where you can get familiar with the traditions of these colorful people. After this proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive.  Overnight at a tented camp/lodge in Karatu.

Day 5
Majestic Serengeti

Today, your journey takes you to the expansive plains of the majestic Serengeti, Africa's renowned national park. Your accommodation will be in a tented camp, providing you with a distinctive "Out of Africa" experience.

Day 6
Serengeti National Park

Enjoy an entire day immersing yourself in the wilderness of the Serengeti! Discover the remarkable array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and wildebeests, all in their natural habitat.

Day 7
Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today is your final day in the Serengeti and we will start our journey back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On your way may have the opportunity to spot animals you haven't encountered yet. At the end of the day you'll arrive at your tented camp/lodge close to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater

In the early morning, we descend via the steep slopes into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the "Garden of Eden." With luck on our side, we may even encounter one of the most elusive members of the Big 5: the endangered black rhino! At the end of the afternoon you will start your journey back to Arusha.

Day 9
Resting Day

Wow, what an experience the last few days in the northern parks of Tanzania were. Now it's time to let everything sink in and enjoy a day of rest before the next adventure begins tomorrow.

Day 10
Travel to Dodoma

After early breakfast your driver/guide will pick you up and you will start the 2nd leg of your adventure. Today will be a full day of travel towards the capital city of Tanzania, Dodoma, where you will arrive before sunset for overnight stay.

Day 11
Ruaha National Park

This morning you will drive in approximately 6 hours to the 2nd largest park in Tanzania,  Ruaha National Park, which is known for its high diversity of animals and vegetation due to the Ruaha River. At the end of the afternoon you will arrive at your tented camp for overnight stay.

Day 12
Ruaha National Park

Full day of game drives in Ruaha National Park. The animals in this park are less used to safari vehicles which makes your experience unique.  At the end of the afternoon you will return to your tented camp for a beautiful sundowner.

Day 13
Mikumi National Park

Wake up with a packed breakfast and lunch and start your drive towards Mikumi National Park (about 6 hour drive). This park is known for nocturnal animals such as bush babies but also for elephants, giraffes, lions, baboons, hippos and kudus.

Day 14
Mikumi National Park

Enjoy a full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park. The park boasts a diverse terrain featuring savannah punctuated with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and rare palm trees. Approximately 5 km north of the park lies two pools inhabited by hippos. Moreover, the park is home to over 400 distinct bird species, adding to its rich biodiversity.

Day 15
Nyerere National Park

Wake up with a packed breakfast and lunch and start your drive towards Mikumi National Park (about 6 hour drive). This park is known for nocturnal animals such as bush babies but also for elephants, giraffes, lions, baboons, hippos and kudus.

Day 16
Nyerere National Park

Day 16
Zanzibar

Unfortunately, your safari adventure has come to an end and you will soon have to say goodbye to your driver/guide who has probably become a good friend. He/she will bring you to the nearest airstrip to connect with your domestic flight to Zanzibar International Airport. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel/resort at the beach.

Day 18-19-20
Beach Life

You have probably gained so many impressions in recent weeks that it is now time to process it all a bit and that is why you can now relax for 3 days on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. If you still have energy left, you can always book an activity at the reception of your hotel/resort, such as a visit to Stone Town or snorkeling..

Day 21
Departure

All good things come to an end. Hopefully your dreams came true! You will be transferred by a hotel/resort representative to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight to Dar es Salaam International Airport for connection with your international flight back home.
